What lake is the cottage on?
Sand Lake.

Is there a deck down at the water?
Yes. There is a fixed 8'x12' deck area attached to a 6'x24'
water-level deck. There are steps to the water itself.

How deep is the water?
At the deep end of the deck the water is 4.5' with a soft sandy
bottom. There is a large shallow area to the right of the deck
where the water is very shallow and young children can wade in.

What kind of fish are in the lake?
There are Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, Whitefish and Small Mouth
Bass in Sand Lake.

Is the shoreline sandy?
There is a mix of sand and stone for several feet and then sand.

Is there an actual beach nearby?
Yes. It's a 5 minute drive to the Sandhurst Resort where there is a
public dock and great beach.

Are there watercraft available to guests?
Yes. There is a paddle boat, a 16' canoe, a laser 2 sailboat and a
14' fishing boat (holds 4-6 people) with 8 hp motor. They are all
included in the rental price.

Is there a boat launch?
Yes. There is a governent dock at the Sandhurct Resort 5 minute
away. There is no charge to use the launch. They sell gas for motor
boats there as well.

Is there a BBQ?
Yes there is a propane BBQ.

Is there a firepit?
Yes.

Is firewood provided?
Yes.

How large is the cottage?
Approximately 1000 square feet.

How many guests can the cottage accomodate?
There are four queen size beds within the three bedrooms.
Additionally, there is an extra mattress located in the storage room
that can be used on the floor of the living room. 8-10 people sleep
comfortably.

Is there an extra charge for additional guests?
Overnight guests in excess of 8 are each an additional $100 per
week.

Is smoking allowed?
Not inside the cottage. Outside is fine as long as all butts are
removed from the grounds.

Are pets allowed?
No.

Are there laundry facilities?
Yes.

Is there a dishwasher?
Yes.

Is there a telephone?
Yes.

Is there a TV?
Yes. There is satellite and a VCR/DVD player as well.

Do I need to bring my own dishes, cutlery and cookware?
No.

Do I need to bring my own linens?
There is bedding available for all the beds. As well, there are dish
cloths and towels for the kitchen. You are responsible to wash and
dry all used linens prior to leaving the cottage. You have to bring
your own beach towels.

What kitchen appliances are available?
Fridge, stove, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, toaster.

How is the cottage heated?
Woodstove and electric heat.

How long a drive is it from Toronto?
About 2.5-3 hours depending on traffic.

How long does it take from Huntsville?
About 30 minutes.

How long does it take to get to Algonquin?
About 30-60 minutes depending on which park of the park you're
driving to.

Where is the nearest hospital?
Huntsville.

What is the nearest town?
Kearney.

Is there additional tax on the cost of the rental?
No.

What do I need to send to make a reservation?
You need to send 2 cheques. One for 25% of the fee as a deposit
cheque, one for the remainder of the fee post-dated for two weeks
prior to your arrival. As well, you need to send in the top half of
the informaion form you receive via email upon making the request
for a booking.

What happens after you receive my cheques?
You will receive a letter confirming your booking and a receipt for
your payment via email. Two weeks prior to your stay your
post-dated cheque will be cashed and you will receive a newsletter
with information about your stay.

What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in time is 2 pm and check-out time is 11am.

What's the best feature of the cottage?
The hammock! Lay around and just soak up the view....
